The premise behind anonymity allows addicts to attend meetings without fear of legal or social repercussions. Such principle is important for an addict thinking about going to a meeting for the first time. Anonymity also fosters an atmosphere of equality in meetings by reinforcing the idea that no individual’s personality or circumstance will be considered more important than the message of recovery shared in NA.

What is the message of recovery that we carry in NA?

“…an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live…” (Basic Text, 5th Ed., p. 65)

If you are an addict or if you think you are an addict, please check out our meetings link for meetings on the Westside. There are also links to meetings outside the Westside in Southern California or else where in the world.

If you are just a concerned party for someone who is struggling with addiction, if you are a treatment professional, or simply need some more information for any other reason, you can check our Public Information (PI) link for additional resources.
